Amazon Avians

I think most of us have fallen for an animal or a pet at some point or another. We think that we will be truly blissful with the unconditional love of a puppy, or the strong personality of a cat. I've had my fair share of that. When I was little, my dad raised horses. I grew older, and we sold the horses. I cried for weeks. We had dogs, but mine was stolen from my yard when I was sleeping one night. I became older as we all do. I now have 5 cats,2 dogs, 2 parrots, 2 turtles and a fish. I had been birdie sitting these gorgeous parrots that belonged to my dads friend. I was ecstatic when I was able to keep them. I thought, "Surely I will be happy now! I have two adorable friends that are better than dogs. They can talk back to me!" I have been listening to my group leader at church, and I try to pay attention to everything I am instructed to do. I have not used the birds as a replacement for God. I feel better knowing that I DO have a piece to fill my void. I've been a Christian since I was 6 years old. I feel very happy for having the right piece for my void, while some of my friends are still struggling with theirs. I have been trying to help them, but I know it will not be easy. I am asking the Lord to help, as He will fit in any void, of any dimension. Remember this, and you too may truly be joyful.
