What is in this world is not ours

by Rutendo
(Saudi Arabia)

I think that as The Bible says that what is in the world is simply the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life; as a Christian girl I am to exercise self control.

Honestly speaking, God told me it is useless for me to spend valuable time delving in the secular magazines like ''People'', ''Heat'', ''Seventeen'' and still feel good about myself.

In fact, I avoid all celebrity gossips because in the past, that used to increase the desire to look like them. I have learned to think as God desires me to do so. I try to mediate daily on God's Word and that has boosted my self esteem more than any hairstyle could have. As girls we spend time looking good too but our standard should not be ungodly...it should never be my aim to look ''sexy'' is that God's desire? Definitely not.
