Things to think about
by: Sarah

I think it is healthy for two people who have broken up to continue to remain as friends although they are not a couple anymore. But if you are seriously considering this boy, you might want to be more careful and take note of how he treats this ex girlfriend of his. Whether he is still trying to get back together with her, whether he's always thinking about her and doing things for her. You have to consider whether this boy is ready for a new relationship, and if not, you should not develop your relationship with him beyond friendship.

At the same time, you should take note of how this boy treats girls in general, and what kind of reputation he has. If generally, he picks up girls easily, gets attached and breaks up with them easily, this is not the kind of stable guy you want in a relationship. He will not be able to provide you with the happiness and fulfil your needs in a relationship.

Also, it's good for you to know that the ultimate purpose of dating is to get married. Although many people have now lost that focus, and just date for fun and pleasure. Many people don't want to admit or take on the responsibility that comes with dating, if it is to lead to marriage. But it is. So when you are looking for a boy, take note of his behaviours, whether he would make a good husband, whether he can take care of you, whether he is matured enough, whether he loves God and is obedient to God, how he treats authority and his parents and other people in general, and a lot more things. You should talk to your parents or someone older and with more experience to share with you more on this.

In Christ,
Sarah
