what can i do to change?

by simiyu
(kenya eldoret)

I sit and wonder, counting the days that I have lived,

I can’t understand coz I’ve not believed,
Every one sees me ok and not bereaved
But they can never tell what my heart has craved
Am alone and with my thoughts bored
What can I do to change?

I look at the world,
And I feel it so wide,
People are scattered and divided,
We speak languages others cannot understand,
But only giving in to the world demand,
What can I do to change?

We work and struggle to strangle others,
Because everything is a struggle
We fight for our plight and make our ends meet,
But someone has to cry for our achievement,
We dispose others to please others,
What can I do to change?

We live in a country but we are not the same,
We can only imagine being the same,
We cannot make it because we do not have fame,
Our problems are someone to blame,
Because our life to them is a game,
What can I do to change?

They sit in five star hotels to determine our fate,
They give us what we don’t need because they don’t know our test,
But for them it’s the modest way to keep us a breast,
Then we are made to fast,
Because they control our fate,
What we do to change?

Can sit back and watch,
While their approaches with our problems don’t match,
Let us stand up and demand for what is ours,
Let us show them that we fast to fight,
Let us make them to change/
Comrade let us demand for what is ours.
