The Change

I'm a 16 year old girl, and the last thing on my mind is the positives of my body. I was a chubby little kid, but i would always hit a growth spurt and "stretch out" as my mom would say. But as of last year my growth spurts stopped. I went from being able to eat whatever i wanted and not worry about gaining too much weight, to having to suddenly watch what i eat, and work out a lot. I hated going swimming in public places. I wasn't comfortable in my own body. I would get depressed, and become angry at any little thing. My mom started talking to me about the wonders of my body, and that god loves me the way i am. I went through a phase of yearning for compliments from boys around me. I worked out all summer, and finally was satisfied with the way my body looked. But as the year progressed, my weight fluctuated again. And once again i was getting depressed. Then i started reading my bible, and i read of how God made me the way i am for a reason, and he loves me just how i am. I am put on the earth to change it with my mind, and personality, NOT with my appearance. The verses Pslam 139:14 and Songs 4:4. They tell that God made me he way i am for a reason.

For all those girls struggling with the weight problem, just remember that you are made just how you are supposed to be.

And for the teenage girls out there, your body is a work in progress, just let it take it's course before you decide what you like and don't like.
