struggling bulimic

by Jennifer
(Dallas)

I've been struggling with an ED on and off for the past two years. At first it was anorexia, then that became harder to hide, so it just became easier to eat and then throw it up.

For the past couple of months I was good, I thought I was past all that. Then some things happened in my life and I gave into temptation again. No one knows about this, and I don't see how I could tell my parents. I mean, it'd kill them to know their baby girl, their only daughter, was bulimic. But treatments too expensive, and, honestly, I don't see how throwing up to calm myself down is such a problem. It's the one thing I have control over in my life, and I'm not ready to give it up. I'm a Christian, but this is a struggle. I mean, how can something that makes me feel so calm and peaceful be such a bad thing?
I know I probably sound crazy, but, please, could you help me?

Hi honey :)
First of all, i want to be completely honest, as much as this may feel "calm and peaceful" now, some where down the line, you will regret this. This can REALLY mess you up mentally and obviously, physically as well. Nothing good comes from this. Right now it's a "good" because oh, your loosing weight. Hey! You're skinny! But you keep doing thing and you'll get TOO skinny. Then you'll realize it, but its too late, you'll try to eat a good balanced meal and your body will automatically throw up the food because its not use to that certain diet. Tell your parents! They may surprise you (guaranteed they will!) and help you! If you truly feel like you can't tell them, tell someone you trust. This is something you need to say.
You really don't want to get hurt.
Lastly, pray to god. He can help you!
Good luck :)
