All Things Are Possible Through Christ
by: Brandi

I understand that cutting can be addictive; I've been down that road, and occasionally still struggle with it. Last Tuesday I cut for the first time in over 2 months.

I believe within my heart that God can deliver you from cutting, but it likely won't be instantly. It will be a process. before anything you need to commit your life to Jesus if you have not done that. Next, you need to pray to him. You must lay it all at his feet. There has to be a certain reason why you cut, so when you realize what it is, cry out to Jesus and lay that down as well as cutting.

I know it will not be easy, but over time it gets easier. I found it easier to overcome this when I had an accountability friend, who I would go to when I had cut, and who I could call when I felt the want to, because believe me, you may feel like you need to cut, but really that is only an attack of Satan.

It is the want that you have, that satan wants you to view as the need to cut. tell a close friend that you could talk to, possibly one from your church, or even your pastor when you are struggling.

When you feel the want to cut, turn your focus to Jesus and cry out to him. Stay in constant prayer and spend time in his word, and I promise you that God will give you a means of escape, and the desire to cut will go away. It will take time, and there will be times where it seems to get worst than before, but I realized that soon after you hit a new rock bottom, Jesus works wonders in you.

In the last 4 months, I've cut maybe 3 times, and it is all because of the love of Jesus and my friend that has been there for me. Though I am constantly plagued with thoughts of cutting, I do not because God strengthens me, and I know that he will strengthen you. If you need someone who has been through this before, you can ask for my email and I will give it to you. I pray that God delivers you as he is delivering me. God bless
