Remember When

by Victoria Gonzalez
(Corpus Christi, TX)

Remember when I fell and scraped my knee? you said, there there, you're strong it'll go away. you gave it one small kiss and everything was better.

Remember when I was crying because some boy didnt like me? you grabbed my hand and said, there, there you're strong it'll go away. one small hug and everything was better.

Remember when I got my first heartbreak and was depressed and in so much pain? you said there there, you're strong it'll go away. one small kiss on the forehead and everything was better.

Now you lay there sick and in pain. I grab your hand and whisper in your ear, there, there you're strong it'll go away. one small tear runs down our face, you smiled then went to sleep and everything was better.
