Pain.

by Hannah

I am in recovery from bulimia and cutting. It's really hard because I haven't cut in a while but today, I just feel so worthless and ugly.

Someone even told me I wasn't important today. At church :( My dad's a preacher and it feels like I have to be perfect and I don't know what to do.
I purged and cut to get rid of something on the inside and I go to a counselor and all now, but there are a pair of scizzors right here and I'm trying to be strong but it's REALLY hard :(

You are an Amazing Person!!
by: Anonymous

I'm writing to let you know that you don't have to strive to be perfect. You're amazing as the person that you are and nobody should put you down because of that. Nobody has the right to ever say that you aren't important. God sees and cares for each of us, and he doesn't want any harm to come to us- whether from others or what we may sometimes do to ourselves... I know it's so difficult to overcome things from the past. Years and years ago, I struggled with depression as a result of emotional abuse, and I came to the point of hating everything, including myself. I would have tantrums and wouldn't speak to anyone. Later on, I developed unhealthy eating habits because I believed that I had to be so thin and perfect in everyone else's eyes.
As time went by, however, I came to realize that I shouldn't have to be judged. (In the Bible,Romans 2, it says that humans should not judge one another). I gradually worked through my problems and came to the conclusion that God could help me through anything and that I shouldn't worry about what others think. Things do take time... and I'm happy that you're making progress. Please know that you are important and that God loves you!! Think about all the ways in which you help make a positive impact on the world. And remember, you don't have to strive to be perfect-you're a wonderful person the way you are.

Also, if you look at Ephesians 2:10, we can understand that God created each of us specifically with a certain purpose in mind. He loves each of us and knew us before we were born. You are special:) He has plans for you!
