My name is Myoko. Here is my story:

It was truly nothing. I had a friend who did it and made me swore NEVER to ever try. But one day I was upset with myself and I also saw her hurt herself which made me sad so I took my scissors and just cut. It bled a little nothing more. But I ended up telling one of my friends who was also friends with the girl who made me swear NEVER to do it and she found out and beat me and cussed me out which was devastating. And so after that I didn't dare to do it for a year.

But then one year when I was in 7th grade I gave in. Idk why or how I just picked something up and started to cut. But I wasn't careful at hiding my cuts some of my friends soon found out and were upset, hurt, shocked, angry, sad, etc.

So one day my frined Kayla made me tell my favorite teacher. Let's call her Mrs. Lovesette. So I went(forced) to her and just broke down and told her I had a problem with cutting. And she gave me her number and was crying too and said that if I ever needed to talk that I can call her but she also said that I'm going to have to see the counselor. Which was the most devastating thing for me. Also, I can tell you that the counselors I had SUCKED. They didnt help or care. They never wanted to help or listen to me. They were just full of bullcrap. But I saw them every 4 months..until like January of my 8th grade year. I just didnt want to see them anymore.

But that didnt stop me from cutting. I was still addicted to it as ever probably far worse especially now. I am getting better though. I'm fighting as hard as I can. But to let you know this isn't easy if you don't already know. And I am going to counseling now (again) but I am not at the same school I go to a Seventh Day Adventist Boarding School and the counselors arent the same of course and they actually care and we meet on a regular basis twice a week. And its been great but hard. So, other Cutters please don't be discouraged as you read my story. Just Know that it is worth it to try your hardest to stop.
