Media Mind-control

by Emily
(Michigan)

I do not think it is fair that the media portrays a "perfect image" of how I should look.

I LOVE myself, inside and out- this includes how I look. But sometimes I, too, start questioning, frowning, wondering, wishing... and the media doesn't help.

Seeing pictures of beautiful- no, gorgeous women- with perfect body figures and a flawless appearance- makes me feel a little down. I'm not as impacted as some girls, but the media can be a humongous shredder, broadcasting perfect women and making others feel like they can't live up to standards.

God made me just the way I am. I AM beautiful, no matter what other people say. And it's hard to realize that, but it's true. :-)
