Mean People

by Bri

I'm 17 years old and here lately, especially last year, I have dealt with a lot of bullying. The things that people said to me were all similar in that they were always attacking my looks. I would hear that I was "ugly" on a daily basis. I've gone through this type of bullying a great deal earlier on in my life as well as now, and it has really made me lose my self-esteem and value. It's now hard for me to see myself as something other than what those mean people have called me, and I now believe that no one will see beauty when they look at me; it's really starting to ruin my life. How can I get over this and start to feel better about myself and about life?

what's important

i know that this is a whole lot easier said than done, but try to not view yourself as the way those people do who pick on you. chances are they're only picking on you like that b/c they themselves feel insecure about themselves. but rather, try to see yourself as God sees you--a beautiful person.

You Are Beautiful Bri!
by: Anonymous

Hi Bri, read your post and just wanted to share something with you.
First of all, you cannot give people that much power over you. You define beauty and your worth is absolutely priceless. But - you must know this for yourself in order for you to be able to live OUT LOUD, honestly and fully letting your voice BE HEARD as you MAKE YOUR MARK fulfilling YOUR DESTINY.
How do you do that? Get to know God the Father through faith in Jesus Christ. Study His Word so that your heart and mind become transformed by the power of its Truth. You learn precious, that He loves you, always did and always will. You become empowered by the truth that Jesus went to that cross, bled and died and rose back up FOR YOU. Let that Truth be YOUR FOUNDATION on which you use to build back up your self esteem.
Look at the different topics, tests given at this site - you can learn some tremendous life skills by participating and applying to your personal life!
And you know something Bri, most assuredly God wants to use you mightily, why else would the enemy try to stop your voice from BEING HEARD? (smile)
Now precious look in the mirror.
Look at that reflection - that masterpiece from God's own hands and say OUT LOUD...
B!-BEAUTIFUL!
R! - RADIANT!
I! - INTELLIGENT
INDIVIDUAL - THAT'S WHO I AM!!!
Blessings Bri - keep us posted!

I like you better!

God tells us that we are His workmanship. God created up, and He doesn't make mistakes, and He doesn't create ugly things. He created you just the way you are, and He created you beautifully, with a plan in mind.

The people making fun of you can't possibly know God's ultimate plan, they are just making themselves look bad because while they think you aren't the prettiest on the outside, I can tell you that they probably aren't very pretty on the inside. And I would much rather spend a day with you then them!

Proverbs 31:30
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

You are beautiful because God created you

Hi,
Growing up, none of the magazines ever had a pale girl with freckles in them anywhere! It got to me a bit!! People called me freckle face, etc. One boy (oddly enough very freckled himself)...said "I hate your freckles"
I had no idea how to respond to that but I said "I like my freckles" (though this was not completely true)...but, we need to love ourselves the way God loves us and I did know He loved me. That love spills over and has authority and your confidence will shut people up (or lead their hearts towards God- they will want to know the source of your joy)...it may take time...
Look at Mother Teresa...she is not exactly physically beautiful to look at but who can take their eyes off of her because of her beauty? Where does this beauty come from? Jesus in her! Pray that Jesus shines through you. You may just convert them to hearts of love!! If they persecute you for your love and radiance...you still win...because the kingdom of heaven will still be yours...

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:10-12
God Bless you. I know you are beautiful and loved because you were created by God. God calls His creation Good!!
