Jesus's Sacrifice<3 Belivable, and belived by me, but I'm confused=-[

I had a question. Okay so I understand that Jesus died on the cross so we could be forgiven and go to heaven. But, what happened to the people who lived before Jesus died on the cross? How were they forgiven, and how did they get to heaven? And, if it was okay before Jesus died on the cross, if everything worked out then, then why did he have to die on the cross?? I feel like I'm questioning God, but I feel like this question is causing me to be in a standstill in my walk with him. My conclusion that I've came to for my question is that Jesus died on the cross to demonstrate the power, glory, and perfection of God's perfect love. Is my conclusion true?

In the olden days--before Jesus came to earth. The isrealites and other holy people who believed in God usued sacrafices to keep them forgiven. Back then if you sacraficed a bull, lamb, or other creature that was pure and blameless God forgave you of your sins (i am so glad we dont have to do that now!) Anyway, when Jesus came to earth he was the new lamb. the perfect, blameless lamb that was to be slaughtered. but he also was going to be the last. after jesus died on the cross for us all we now only have to ASK jesus for forgiveness. It's that simple now. :) Hope this answered your question.

haha. Forgot to say that yes. your conclusion is true. But he also died for us. Not just to demonstrate his power and glory but also so we could be excepted. We were forgiven.
I'm sure you've read the crucifiction. And for a brief moment when jesus was on the cross, God had to turn his back on his son. Because he had sin on him. But that sin of course was ours. Its amazing how much a God like ours can still love us even when we lie, cheat, steal, denounce HIM. We do terrible things. I mean if i were him i might have given up on the whole human race! But GOD doesn't give up on us.

Thanks so much!! It makes more sense to me now...=-] I just know that I love God cause he loves me, same with Jesus and I know they are real, even when I'm confused I just need to keep my faith strong, 'cause faith is what you need when you don't have the answers=-].
