My friend who's a year older than me is going to homecoming this year! i was happy for her until i heard she was going with my crush...:(

she said they were going just as friends, and i totally believe her,....but that jealousy monster is tearing my heart apart! my crush is a really good friend of mine, and we always joke around with each other, and i kind of think he likes me... and he knows that he and she are just going as friends too... i've prayed about it, and asked for some help from God....what else can I do?

Jealousy!
by: Another teen writer! (hannah w)

Well I think that you should say something to ither your friends or that boy. But if you dont feel comfortable with that. But that's what i would do, but i would have to build up the courage first.

Praying is awesome, but it is important what you are praying for. God is in complete control of every situation, he has a reason for this. Could you be putting too much of your heart on a crush that you may not ever see again after high school, or are you being too hard on a friend that may really need your support. If he is the only guy that asked her, maybe she needs attention and support from a close friend. Maybe he didn't ask any other girls because he wanted to go with someone you trusted. I know that it is easy to look at your own feelings first, but try and see it from their point of views too. It makes every situation easier to deal with if you look at it from someone else's shoes.

Philippians 2:3&4
'Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.'

Father God, I pray for this situation, and all of those involved. Please help them to be aware of each other's feelings, and be open to what you have going on. Please guide them in your will, and help them to understand the situation the way that you do. I pray that you use this situation to strengthen friendships and their hearts. Please watch over each of them in the months that follow. Help them to put their hope in you and to find peace. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
