How do I rededicate my life to Jesus?

by KM
(BlGa)

I have become so lost and I have drifted so far away from God, I have felt the need to rededicate my life to Jesus for a really long time and make it serious this time and I just don't know how to come about that. I need help, please.

Never the Same
by: S'ambrosia

Hey there, love:)

I'm so glad you were able to come to our website to find some help. The decision to rededicate your life to Christ is going to be one of the best decisions you could ever make in your lifetime!

Here a few suggestions:

1) Reflect on the first time you committed your life to Christ and write it down. Remember what attracted you to Him, what made you want to be a Christian, and write down why you want to commit to Him again. This is something you'll probably want to date and hold onto, so put it in a journal or somewhere safe.

2) Write down the things you've been struggling with; the things you would like to give to God. After you've written them all down, pray and ask the Lord to take these things from you. Submit your life to Him and His authority and promise to trust Him to take care of you instead of seeking out other "gods." Once you've prayed, rip up that sheet of paper and eat it. Haha, just kidding (I was checking to see if you were paying attention). But throw it away or drive over it a few times, throw it into a river...whatever helps. Micah 7:19 says that when we come to God in repentance, He takes our sins and throws them into the sea of forgetfulness that is as far as the east is from the west. So your throwing that list of sin into the river, or whatever, is just a small symbol of what God is actually doing with them;)

3)Get a support group. Once you make the commitment to follow Christ, thing won't suddenly get easier, as I'm sure you've discovered. You're going to have to dive in personally, and then you're going to need people to hold you accountable. On a personal level: Set up a daily schedule of when you can be with God. During that time you can pray, read your Bible, worship, etc. Just make an appointment and do your best to keep it (don't beat yourself up if you miss it though..God doesn't get angry about those things, He understands). On a corporate level: If you're not already attending a youth group or church service, start! Get connected with leadership there and keep an eye on the other students in youth group. If you spot some people that you admire because of their faith, go up to them and ask them to be your accountability partner. They will be able to challenge you not just to stay off the wrong path, but to go deeper in God. We all could use some friends like that, right?

I know this was long-winded, but I hope it helped. I'm praying that God encounters your heart as you have this conversation with Him and your life is never the same. Much love and God bless.

Just ask Jesus back into your life/ Heart like the first time that you did. ask him to forgive you of your sins, repent.. and live for him! if you have a Bible, read that daily, The word is a lamp to our feet. it's really not hard. it's really simple. in the bible it says that you must be born of the water and of the spirit. so if you haven't been baptized. this must be done. see( john 3:5)
