Heart’s Song

by Melisa Steele
(Rockford, IL)

The night falls down as the moonlight steals the sky,

Waiting for dreams to come around, catching them as they pass me by

But sometimes life seems to be only a picture in the sand,
Washed away by the waters drawn by somebody’s hand

And minute by minute, day by day, I watch another picture fade away,
Hour by hour, night by night I return to the waiting hoping one will stay

Wind blowing through my hair as you hear a song of my heart,
That the dream shall find me and shall it part

I will climb the highest mountain that touches the broadened sky,
My feelings soaring through the heavens & I hear he eagle cry

The wild, raging sea that washed upon the sand,
will not stop me now as I travel `cross the land

So in sync now , on a search for what there is to come,
Such passion that the wind whispers with, that my heart’s song has just begun!
