Heartache

by Keshia
(Hagerstown MD)

I lay here staring through the window at

random cars as they go by as if they were
figments of my imagination and the raindrops as
tears from my own eyes. The day goes by, the
night comes on but i stay here sobbing silently wondering
where you are and what you're thinking and if you're coming home. I
know the pain you feel is pain like no other but you dont
bear it alone. The heartache you feel overcomes me with sorrow and
I sit here, helpless and afraid there's nothing I can do. Night moves on and the world becomes
a quiet, suffocating dungeon. I hear a sound at the door as you walk in with
your head down, your eyes looking away. I sense your sadness and
hear your noiseless cry for help as if you had yelled it from the rooftops and
suddenly my heart breaks and i want to run and hold you and comfort you and assure you that everything will be ok. But something unknown holds
me back and we part our separate ways.
