Godly views on swimsuits

by George Adams
(Montgomery, Texas)

I am a Christian male, and I have Christian friends that think that a bikini is ok for Christians to wear. I just can't believe how they can think this way. It is obvious that wearing a bikini is like wearing a bra and underwear in color, some are white and very much resemble underwear anyway. But they all just want to blame the person who looks at them... their the sinful ones... the lookers not the wearers.

It seems no matter what I say it is still there opinion that it's the viewer’s problem. I know that it has been a desensitization. I know that no matter who you are, you are either disgusted by the look of someone who has a body that shouldn't be in a bathing suit or you are having to look the other way for fear your wife or girlfriend or on the other hand a boyfriend or husband, will catch you looking at what even they know you shouldn't be looking at.

I want to personally Thank you and ask God's Blessings for you and the young lady who wrote in, for voicing a very needed subject and to stand up for the rights for Christian Woman, and men.
By the way, I as a man wear longer shorts and a t-shirt.

By the way... if swim suits are a thing of the 1900's then what did they do before the 1900's for thousands of years?... I'll tell you my opinion... they wore their clothes or didn't go. And it was probably a set of cloths set aside for when they went down to the lake or creek to bath in…thus the word bathing suit, now swim suit.

So, in conclusion... wear your shorts and t-shirts and you might not look fashionable but you are pleasing God by not putting a stumbling block before your brother or sister. I am sure you will not die from the embarrassment and you might just attract a member of the opposite sex that will be a faithful and Godly man or woman and are interested in more than how you look in a swimsuit.

Women, the devil is a liar!
by: Anonymous

It's crazy to think that we have compromised the standards of Godly modesty for the sake of fashion. I have always felt women should only reveal skin that they wouldn't mind an opposite gender from church would touch. For example, why would you show part of your chest in a bikini if you wouldn't want someone to touch that part of your body, or thighs, or midrif?
Listen, guys have a responsibility as well, but as Christians in a fallen world, we are to be wise... We have to remember that every male on the beach isn't saved. Many men are addicted to porn Christian and non christian alike. Men that aren't saved don't think it's wrong to look at girls in bikinis...... so why are we as Christians wearing them? We have to be wise in this fallen World, and be about the Kingdom Of God.

The Beach

Not everyone on the beach isn't saved tbh. The women in bikinis definitely need to get saved (for the most part since most of them are immodest). However, most of the guys there don't know God. Though this is true some are saved. Looking at women in bikinis isn't a sin but it is a sin to lust after them if you aren't married. If you are married you would be sinning if you start checking them out.
