Frustrated

I came across this website when googling modest swimwear. I have changed my whole wardrobe in order to honor God in this area of my life, but until now I had not felt comfortable giving up wearing two-piece bikinis. I was worried (with no reason) about the weird tan lines I'd get if I wore a tankini and a skirt when sunbathing, but who really cared about tan lines? I'm still single, no one sees me naked and I don't wear short tops that would be showing my white belly in contrast to my super tan arms and legs, I don't know why I was so worried about that! The problem is that I have gone to a few stores such as Sears and others and they don't seem to make modest swimsuits for thin girls, they only have sizes from 8 up. It's frustrating, it makes me think that companies that make those swimsuits think that only overweight people want to be modest.... I'm almost thinking about sewing my own suit...

This is a really good point. What you outlined actually highlights how society is reinforcing the belief that "if you got it you should flaunt it." People with ideal frames are thus encouraged to wear revealing clothes and are discouraged from dressing modestly. On the other hand, they're sending the message to women that don't have the "ideal" frame, to cover up (like they need to be ashamed or hide their bodies). That's so stupid. I never really thought of that. I'm glad you brought this point up!

If you look on the Modest Swimwear page on this site, you'll see that lots of people have provided links to companies that provide modest swimwear. That's awesome if you can make your own suit, but if you want to peruse through stuff people have already made, check it out:)

I have ran into that problem as well!! It's so hard to find modest swimsuits in small sizes!
