Don't be afraid to tell someone

by Brandi
(Georgia)

I was sexually abused when I was 7 years old by someone that I was related too. He made me play a game and at the time I did not know what was really going on but. I felt uncomfortable but he told me not to tell. So I didn't well not till 7 years later till I finally realized I told my mom and I got help. I would cry myself to sleep and have nightmares because of what he did to me. If I could have told someone sooner I would have but I was scared. But no one should ever be scared to tell someone something like that.

Thank you so much for sharing that Brandi. It’s understandable that you were scared, you were young & being violated & risked the chance that no one would believe you but you were very brave & I’m glad you were able to speak up & also able to encourage others to do the same – Once brought into the light darkness looses ALL power! I’m thankful that you are now getting the help you need & deserve & I will pray to God, who loves you & will not waste a single hurt, to heal you completely <3
