Demons

by Cara
(Montana)

Hidden with a smile

They hide within
Attacking me, making fun of me
But more brutally
They’re tearing me down

Forever they fight
With each other
And against me

Viciously they attack me
My mind, my heart
And even worse, my soul

They degrade me
Make me feel small and weak
Tell me I’m not worth it
Yell at me, screaming
Saying the same thing over and over

Laughing they tell me to cut
Anything to hurt myself
To fall back into my hole

Every passing day it’s harder and harder to fight them
To tell them to go away
To keep control of my thoughts
My wants, my wishes. . .
Myself

I keep losing myself
My innocence
My worth

I just want them to go away
To stay away
To take their thoughts and desires
And leave me alone
And let me be happy

Greater is He that is in you!
by: S'ambrosia

Wow, Cara. This is really good and very deep. I want to encourage you in this wise by saying that you have God on your side, and with Him, who can stand against you? Through Him you have the power to overcome the struggle with the flesh and satan. You are more than a conquerer!

Here are a few scriptures for you to read and be encouraged by. Your poem was A-mazing, but I hope that you don't stay in that place, you know?

Much love and many prayers♥

2 Corinthians 10:3-5, Romans 8:31-32, 1 Corinthians 10:13, Phillipians 4:13-14, 1 John 3:19-20

Thanks for sharing

Thanks for sharing this poem! There is definitely a spirit world - a battle against good and evil. But, the good news is that the good (Jesus) wins in the end. That's what the book of Revelation in the Bible is about.

I also like this verse, "The reason the Son of God (Jesus) appeared was to destroy the devil's work." I John 3:8b

I'm just curious...what kind of spiritual belief do you have? To you, who is Jesus?

Thanks again for sharing!

Demons go away
by: Bee

Cara, I was drawn to this poem because i also feel this kind of battle in my head as I'm sure alot of women do in the kind of society we live in. The only time the voices go away is when I'm busy doing things. I try to help people when I can and this makes me feel better. As a woman who is unable to have children, I sometimes feel worthless. I feel maybe I did something do deserve it. I know I feel better when I listen to other people with the same situtions and when I am busy. Also, reading Leo Buscaglia books have helped alot. No matter what, practice telling yourself how beautiful you are and make a list of all your great qualities, then find a walking partner or just walk yourself (where it's safe) outside really fast for an hour. Stay away from negative people even if it's your family. I hope this helps.
