Dear Ana

by Amber
(Alabama)

Dear Ana,

I wished you'd listen, I wish you'd hear.
You control my mind. My thoughts. My fears.
You were my best friend, my everything.
But then you left like autumn leaves.
I was content, happy to say "See ya!"
But then you introduced your cousin Mia.
You and her, the perfect tag team.
"You're fat!You make Everest look small!" you'd both scream.
I would try to get rid of the food
Brownies, chips, and coke I had consumed
But, there was no prevail
"Well, you'd better exercise, you whale,"
And here we are now, stuck in this twisted maze
As you both whirl around me, I feel as if I'm in a daze
So Ana, please pack and leave
Oh, and don't forget to take Mia, if you please.
