beauty?

by Alli
(Missouri)

All of my friends were make up and mini skirts. I want to be like them. The problem is that I was raised CGC Penicostal and if I did that I would go against my beliefs. I don't want to go against my beliefs but I get made fun of because I have to wear long skirts and maybe lip gloss. I feel I should stay with my belief but I don't know. Should I just accept who God made me and deal with the criticism.

Stay true to yourself and your beliefs
by: Anonymous

Hi! Im ANDREA
so i read what you wrote it is ok for you to want be like somebody because we all admire somebody in our lives. You dont have to let people's thoughts or wahtever they say about you to get you because you have to trust and believe in yourself. If what you think is that everybody will pay attention to you because of what your wearing your probably wrong, first of all people that do that are sahllow and superficial person. People that truly know who you are what you wear and how do you act and theys atnd by you in any situation are the people you should trust because they dont mind how you look, and they are your friends.Dont try to be someone your uncomfortable being ,its better to be yourself and show your inner beauty.

Out with the old and in with the new!

I say to pray about choosing new friends; find some (one is enough) that share your religion, beliefs, and restrictions. You can learn to become like Christ instead of trying to become one of the many lost young ladies in this deteriorating society.

i understand

hi, im penticostal also. and im going to start HS in a few! imagine what people will think and say to a girl wearing long skirts and no jewlery! but you know what? i dont care. i've come to understand that the people who like you for what you wear are not true friends at all. infact, true friends don't care if you wear 'the latest trends' or a garbage bag! they just want to enjoy your company. Ofcourse evey girl wants to feel pretty once and a while. so alittle lip gloss or eyelyner wouldn't hurt. the important thing is to remember your beautiful without that stuff and God sees you in the brightest light.. even when you don't see your selt that way.

hmmm.....

If these are really your convictions, don't just toss them to the wind so that you can "fit in." Being "cool" is overrated! :) God bless you with wisdom and grace to stand wherever He calls you!!
