Are Bikinis Okay?

I'm turning 14 this summer and i am not sure what is appropriate for swimsuits at the pool. I go to the pool usually every other day. Most of my friends flaunt what they have. Do you think wearing bikinis that are not revealing are ok?(by the way, I saw you this past weekend at junior high convention and loved what you had to say!)

You've obviously read what I wrote about swimwear, so here is someone else's thoughts on it.

Modesty is something that is between you and the Lord and is different in every situation. If you are going to a swim party with only other girls wear whatever you want. If there are going to be guys at the pool you need to be more careful. You need to decide if what you are wearing will cause them to sin. Whoever looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery in his heart. If you think that you would be okay swimming with Jesus in your two piece, go for it. Otherwise maybe it requires more thought and prayer. I have seen some very modest two pieces that are more modest then some one pieces. I would say it depends on the suit.
Compromised on boy shorts

Well, my daughter is turning 14 too, and she wanted a stringy-bikini like the other girls have. We compromised with the "boy short" style -- here's a link to it, I think it's cute and fairly modest compared to what the girls are wearing these days:
