Alzheimer’s

My grandma has Alzheimer’s and my mom has become her primary caregiver. My grandpa is in denial and refuses to accept any sort of help so my mom is working herself into the ground trying to manage two households at the same time. It’s hard enough to watch my grandma slip away, but the tension in our house because of what my mom is going through only makes it worse. Any advice on how to cope?

RE: Alzheimer’s

That is such a tough situation! I will definitely be praying for you.

My only advice would be to help your mom out as much as you are able to make her life easier at home. And if you could help out at your grandmother's that would be great, too. Maybe just ask her what she needs. Sometimes that's the best thing you can do. Ask how you could be of help. Or how you could make her life easier. Even if she doesn't have an answer right away, the fact that you asked will mean a lot.
