There have been few things that have had such an impact on my life as the Beth Moore studies have. I love that I can now watch her teachings online for free at Life Today.
I was watching her series today called "Times of Intensive Care." Wow. I am really going through some hard times in my life right now and her teaching was just what I needed to hear. In fact, there was a couple times I had healing tears just flowing down my face. They were healing because Beth was sharing God's word in a way that was healing for me.
I believe God's word does not return empty. Isaiah 55:11 says, "So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."
Another reason is that she shares her own story, her testimony. Revelation 12:11 says, "They overcame him (the accuser - satan) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony."
Praying God's Word Has Changed My Life
One thing I've learned from Beth is how to pray God's word for my struggles. It has been something that has been huge in my life and I now use this when I pray for others as well. Again, God's word is powerful. It's our offensive weapon against the enemy the "sword of the spirit." (Ephesians 6:17)
In Praying God's Word, Beth Moore teaches how the truth of Scripture and the power of prayer can help destroy the strongholds of sin in your life. Moore begins by carefully identifying fourteen common strongholds such as anger, unforgiveness and addiction that threaten to destroy your spiritual life. She then presents Scriptures that are arranged in prayer form, so that you can use them as a means of fighting against and ultimately destroying these strongholds of sin.
