Do we deserve happiness?

It seems like the world is so full of negativity and sadness that there’s no place for positivity and good things.

How can we believe in a God that is so good and loving when the world we live in is so horrible?

Is there a place for goodness in the world? Do we deserve happiness and forgiveness?

ANSWER:

That's a great question, because this world is full of darkness. God calls this darkness, "sin and death" and it is a consequence of "The Fall" of mankind the Bible talks about in Genesis.

Basically, God created a perfect world that was full of goodness, but Adam and Eve rejected God's plan and we as a human race have been doing so ever since.

But God loves us anyway.

Do we deserve happiness? No. We deserve to pay the price for our sins, but thankfully we have a God that loves us enough to pay that price for us. He sent Jesus to die, to pay the ultimate price and die in our place.

While we live on this earth we will still be in a world full of sin and darkness, but we can have hope that this world isn't all there is. In fact, we can even get a taste of the goodness that's to come when we put our faith in Jesus because He comes and lives in our hearts. It's an amazing thing really.

We don't deserve it, but God loves us enough that He wants us to know His goodness and love.
