The best side of me
Is to be
A country girl
Where you’re free to be whatever you want
And nothing is holding you back
The best side of me
Is to be
In a field
Surrounded by absolutely nothing
But yourself and God
When you’re beside yourself
Because of all the beauty
And He is there, too
The best side of me
Is to be
Roaming and not knowing
What is coming next
There’s always something new around the bend
All I can do is wait
And hope for the best

Is to be
On a horse
Running and running through that field
I feel free
And it’s only me, the wind that blows in my face
And God

By myself
And free
Of all this cruel world
I’ll create my own
And live in it forever
Where I’ll be beside myself,

And have God there too
