My Name is "I AM" Poem

by Helen Mallicoat

I was regretting the past
And fearing the future.
Suddenly my Lord was speaking:

“My name is I Am.” He paused.
I waited. He continued,
When you live in the past
With its mistakes and regrets,
It is hard. I am not there,
My name is not I WAS”.

When you live in the future
With its problems and fears,
It is hard. I am not there.
My name is not I WILL BE.

When you live in this moment,
It is not hard. I am here.
My name is I AM.

----------------

I love this poem because it's such a good reminder to stay with God in the present moment. One of the keys to living with God is to live in the present tense...not in the past and not in the future.

"Yesterday Is History, Tomorrow Is a Mystery, but Today Is a Gift. That Is Why It Is Called the Present."

Lord, may we learn to stay with you in this moment, the present.

Amen Shelley! Great reminder to encourage our hearts with that precious truth, I AM is with us. There's no need to "go back" or "run ahead". Our DAILY bread is given as a supply for THAT day. Wonderful reminder Shelley, thanks!

GOD SPEAKS
by: Ann

I just got this e-mail from a friend and, believe it or not, another friend gave me a written copy of this poem today. Do you think God is trying to tell me something? Fear, anxiety and worry have no place in our lives when we have "I Am". Thank you Lord!

While doing Bible Study i came upon several places in scripture where Jesus said "I AM" the bread of life...etc..God said to Moses, My Name is "I AM" I decided to see if i could find the Poem through the internet...i was so surprised! Is there a way i could get a copy ? as it is so dear to my heart. Thank you. God Bless!

Enlightening
by: Tami

My Mother gave me a copy of this poam shortly after I left home. ( about 20 years ago.)
I use to keep it posted in front of me at my desk at work. But it meant the most 3 years ago. Ten years after my Mother went back home to God and three years after seperating from my husband. I ment the wrong side of life during my divorce and entered in to a life of drugs. In early 2008 I entered into treatment. I posted this at my bunk so it was the first thing I saw when I awoke each morning and retired each night. This poams helped me through one of the most difficult and enlightening periods of my life.
I had lost my copy and was happy to find this posted online. It will be reposted for me to see each day.

He is, I am.

I truly love this poem-I see it posted on the wall at the doctors office,in a frame. With everyday problems the doctors office is one of the best places to have the poem. God is in the message. Thank you Helen Mallicoat for allowing God to use you.

I'm not religious and I do not believe but this Poem helped me through difficult times it is a poignant reminder that we cannot undo what is done and need to stop living in the past or living for what may never come but to take each day as it comes.

Who and Why?
by: Anonymous

Who amongst us lives without regret? and the Lord
says, Let he who is with out sin throw the first
stone, to those who berate and acuse others, the
Lord forgives if you should ask Him .
Peace be with Us all.

I am poem

I had this on a poster hanging in my room as a teenager. Love this poem. I lost my way and myself in the Hussle of life. Finding me now.

Revelations 1:8

Revelations 1:8 For he saith, I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, the Lord, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.

Growing up
by: Marc

I had this poem on a poster, hanging on my bedroom wall as a teenager. I read it so many times I was able to quote it. Sadly, in the hectic world, I lost my reliance on it, as an adult. God has brought me back to Himself and his word, Praise His Holy Name. This poem continues to help me now at 49, as it did as an adolescent.

Rev. and R.N.
by: Sharman Brown

This poem has been a validation of the personal promise Jesus gave me during the auto accident in 1990 that resulted in my husband's death 5 months later. Jesus gave me the promise, "Sharman, I Am here, no matter what, even if it's the worst, I Am here. He was and always has been all these 31 years later. He is the Great I Am.

The only name He ever used.
by: Anonymous

I Am, is the only name God ever identified himself by. It meant I exist in my own right. I am not a created thing, I existed in eternity past, I exist right now, and I will exist in eternity future. Also, he answers to no one. Yet, he sent his one and only begotten son to serve and not to be served. He didn't reach down to us, he reached out.
