What Do I Believe?

by Lauren W.
(USA)

I was built differently than other girls. I was always first, second tallest girl in my class. That was an upside. Downside, I think I'll still grow, but for right now, I'm a little bigger than other girls. One of the things that was hard for me is that-I might still be growing. I might get taller. I didn't want to wait, though. I wanted to be taller, be fitter. However, I found how much happier I was when I didn't worry about it and let God deal with it. I realized "skinny" doesn't mean "beautiful". "Skinny" does not mean "happy". My Mom was a great mentor for me, she would give it to me straight and help out with it.

It came back to bite. Shopping for a pretty Easter dress was hard. I didn't fit into anything. One year, it brought me to small tears.
It faded away. I've started to be healthy, which doesn't mean "skinny". Some sites pound outfits on me that I know I won't fit in. I'm okay with that now.

I had to make a choice: Do I believe what the world tells me, or what God will tell me?

Wonderful Lauren, you look in the mirror and define that God's masterpiece's reflection.

Don't base it on the limited perception of others - but just in case you're wondering...

Definition of beautiful - You are looking at it!!!!

Blessings to you precious!
