True Beauty in Our Hearts
by Alaina VanderVeen
Your Bible Study Topic: Popularity
God’s Word (the bible verses for your study): Psalm 103:15-18
Think About it (discussion questions that can be used in a group or for individuals):
1) Are you really living out your faith the way God wants you to? If so, how?
2) How would you rate yourself when it comes to popularity?
3) Are you a victim of popularity?
4) Do you ever feel you should change yourself just because others are doing the same?
Meditate On it (What does this mean to me? How can I apply it to my own life? Suggest a verse to memorize.): Some people keep to their selves about faith and don't live it out. They hide it inside of themselves and follow the crowd. But like Psalm 103 said, we only have a short life on earth, and God has not called us to be like everyone else. In fact, He has called us to be ourselves and honor Him and tell about Him to the mountains! Let's help Him build His kingdom here!
Conclusion (any final thoughts, stories): So today after reading this, you should feel like a new person. You should feel like you need to go tell your faith. If not, pray about it. We only live for so long and that doesn't mean YOLO! So don't start getting into trouble, but instead, do what God has put you here on earth for. Stop following the crowd and trying to be like everyone else when you could be living your faith out and understanding it. What feels more better? Not being yourself, or being yourself and living for God? Think about that.
Closing Prayer: Dear Heavenly father, I thank you for making me, me. I pray that you will help me to realize that I don't have to try to be like everyone else to fit in because I have you. I know that when I feel out of place, you will be there for me. Even when I fail, I know you can be with me.
