the Thank You letter

by Melisa Steele
(Rockford, IL)

Thank You sweet Jesus for standing up for me when no one else would.....
When they all stood standing,
eyes wide, gapping
at the horror of my life...
the view of destruction, of pain, of the desperation of it in broken ruins....

h o p e l e s s ...

them pointing, laughing, ignoring and blaming....

a l o n e...

When no one else would help, when they failed to see, a Hero came and on His knees picked up the broken glass shards of my life that now lay spilled empty...

He mended,
reformed,
redeeemed and restored....

Beautifying what ugliness once raged through me and stealing a glimpse I'm surprised to have survived the hundred bleeding wounds but here I am to stand now...

W H O L E....

F I L L E D...

and complete to reflect the glory of the living King who saved me from a darkness that longed to destroy me.....
I can laugh in happy joy, and dance in abounding freedom, and I can sing grand praises to the Prince who rescued me....

Oh Christ You complete me, and fill the emptiness that drives out the black and hideous void. Oh God You are my strength, I LOVE YOU and it's my prayer that this letter to You speaks volumes of Your hope, of Your grace, and of Your Awesome, Inspiring, Saving Love.....
THANK YOU!!!

We all need a savior, may we give our whole heart to our Father, and hold our hands out to Him for help for He is good and no one cares more.....Job 11:13
