SO WHAT!

by Scarlett Vivid.
(New Zealand)

It is what it is! The media is not FORCING any one to do anything- they are doing their job which is trying to sell a product.

Sure they alter the way people look- to make their job easier. I don't think its a good thing- but I think it is just part of how our world is these days and there is no point being upset about it because you aren't going to change it.

my problem
by: cassandra

the problem i have with it is that they influence how mainly young women see themselves, b/c they do make their models way skinnier and looking "perfect" than what they are..many models now are anorexic or bulimic, or close to it..how do i know? all you have to do is look at many and see how skinny they are..if it looks like they're skin and bones, they're too skinny..i'm actually sorry you don't have a problem with how the media is.

What do you mean 'so what'?
by: Niki

it is very apparent that models and advertisements and media cause ppl especially girls to feel self-concious. what i dont understand is how u can just say "so what" to that. do u seriously not care? thats pretty sad. eating disorders arent something to say "so what" to. if u dont care then so be it but im sure u can keep ur opinion to urself

i agree
by: cassandra

i completely agree with what you have to say niki!!

I disagree with you. We are going to change it; one person at a time. I pray that your next.

ITS NOT RIGHT
by: Rosie

Thinking about how this is just their job i still have little respect for these guys. If they don't intend to harm all of the young women out there then they should quit their job. It really hurts alot of girls. We all have those feelings. Being insecure and not normal. but really we ARE normal. it's media who's out of wack. They need some serious help. Saying so what to me is like saying it doesn't matter if they continue to manipulate us and that its alright if they continue to lie to us and edit girls.
