Sixth and Eighth

by Skylar
(Hallstead)

Okay, so I'm in sixth grade. I used to have a crush on two of my guy-friends... But then found out that it was more of a deep love of friendship when I really searched my feelings. Anyway, as you already know I am in 6th grade. I have developed a major crush on an eighth grader. I mean he's nice and everyone says we would be good for each other. I told one friend, but told her that I didnt care if the entire school knew; as long as my mom didn't find out because she thinks dating is waste. Well, my friend decided to take that literally. She's always telling people, which I don't mind considering that the sooner he finds out the better. Though today when we were walking upstairs from chorus, she yelled out "Hey Skylar there's your man!" Which looking back was fairly funny, but he looked over and saw me... I was so embarassed. The one that said that doesn't want me to like him; but she has a boyfriend. Now, I honestly don't see the point in dating either in Junior High, but I really like him. And also another one of my friends used to have a boyfriend who was in eighth grade and I think she likes another guy in that grade who likes her back, I'm pretty sure anyway. But the guy in 8th that I like Let's just call him *** has a sister in my grade. So I feel a little guilty about liking him. But I'm just going to get to one of my MANY quetions. (And I've never dated or like someone, bare that in mind). Why do you think my friend said she doesn't want me to like him anymore?

Yes and No

Hey, my name is Sarah. Im in my freshman year of highschool. I read what you wrote but I cant help but think of how young you are. Listen, Ive only been in 3 relationships but the last one really caught on to me. Alot happened, I wont go into detail, but through it all... I found what it really means to follow God. I gave my life to God, truly. I gave Him every big and little tiny piece of my life. This includes dating. I know right now Im probably making no sence but please keep reading...
You are at a very young age, where you can get to know God and start your walk with Him. Look, boys, crushes.. this is the very thing that will pull you away from God and what He has for you life. Believe me I know. It happened with me. You are at a young age right now and yes, boys are going to get to you. But try you hardest, please, to follow God first. God will lead you to the one your supposed to be with. Dating isnt a game. Save yourself for the one God has created that special someone for you. Why not wait? If you are meant to be with someone then God will make it happen. You are not the one to make it happen.
Im praying for you, that you can walk with God first and always. Believe me, it is totally worth it. God loves you more then any guy ever could.
