my little world of boys and friends

by lily

there's a group of about 10 teens that i and my friends hang with, and in that about 4 or 5 boys, and sometimes i get caught up in the thoughts that say, "which boy?" i don't like any of them, but sometimes it feels like they are the only boys out there, it's silly i know, but my question is, is it okay that i want to leave that for awhile so that i can see some new "world" so that i can see in a wider rang of friends? i hope that's understandable!

If I understand right, it seems like you are saying that you think you have to find a boyfriend out of the group of friends you have? If you don't like any of them, you definitely shouldn't force yourself to see them as anything more than a friend. It's ok and even good to make new friends. Just make sure that you are making friends that care about you and are making good decisions, ones that can build you up and be true friends.

And just because you make new friends, doesn't mean you have to forget about the old ones! I would encourage you to take your time finding a boyfriend. Sometimes people can convince us that we NEED a boy to make us happy, but in reality only God can give us the true happiness that we desire. Keep your eyes focused on God and he will bring along the right guy at the right time. Don't rush it :) Pray and ask him to lead you to more friends as well.

Hope that helps!
