Low self-esteem

by Gry
(Norway)

Hi!

I have really low self-esteem, but not mainly because of my looks. Rather because of my personality. I'm quite a quiet and shy person you know, and today's society values the load and funny people. How do I overcome this? How do I dare being myself around others? Inside I am not so shy. Inside I am a person with big dreams and hopes for the future. A girl that can be crazy with her close friends. I want to be able to be myself outside my inner circle of friends too! How do I do that? How do I make those truths I know from the Bible true for ME? How do I make my heart grasp what Jesus thinks of me, so that I will stop caring what people
might think of me?

I know these might be quite difficult questions, and I know that without knowing me you probably can't say so much about it, but I hope you'll answer me anyway :)

Introversion
by: S'ambrosia

Hey Gry,

I totally understand where you're coming from because I felt the same way, but I have great news. I realized that God not only made me this way, but He made a bunch of us this way and the label for our kind of personality is called an "introvert." You've probably heard this before, but I actually came across a blog post last week that explains so perfectly who I am and why it's hard for people to understand me. I think when you read it you'll feel the same way. It's so good I seriously want to make anyone I date or begin a friendship with read it before they get to know me, just so they understand me better, haha.

Let me know what you think, then maybe we can chat some more about it if you have any other questions;) Much love♥

Renewing of the Mind !
by: Keza S

Hi Gry!

Well with any person to know someone loves you it is because the relationship you have with the person or people. They tell you by words and they show you by actions so if you want God to do this, your relationship with Him needs to be the 1st priority in your life.
This relationship determines every aspect of your life. Now to be more outgoing and a people person is going to take time.Maybe you should join a group that are not with your friends, this will allow you to open up, you may need to take a person or a friend with you who is very outgoing with others this way you see her and you pick up on how she interacts and get to know more people.
Also remember just because the WORLD like loud and funny people does not mean you need to be this person. God created us the way we are, we all have faults but with GOD , He allows us to work on them and perfect them in His likness. He also tells us do not conform to the ways of the World, but be transformed by the renewing of the mind. Romans 12:2. So be this new girl you want to be because you want to be and desire to be and not because it is Worldly to be loud and funny. Transform your idea of yourself and your thinking and God will open up a new door for you to walk through. I hope this has helped you and I know one day you will be able to express yourself to the WORLD with GOD help that you will Praise His name daily for this new gift ... AMEN

Remember confidence is YOU!!... and in Hebrews 10:35-36 it says. "Do not throw away your confidence it will be richly rewarded."

Much Luck
Love Keza S ~
