Love, oh Love…

by Genevieve

What is love???

I loved someone and I thought that he loved me too…I met him on a rainy day, but he just brought sunshine in to my life, but now he's gone…or someone else's. I did the best I could in the relationship and I loved him with all I had. I pictured all my dreams with him in it. Loving him as they "till death do us part". Oh how he loves me and cares about me and how there is no else in this world, but me or so I thought. Made supper for him one night, made the best dishes. "I can't see u tonight", he said, "I am not feeling well". Being the best person or girlfriend I am I believed him. I was a little bit hurt, but sickness is not asked for. My friend comes and asks me to accompany her to the shop. We laugh and chat as girlfriend should. Then he drove past me and he is on his phone and does not see me. He stopped at a house and a girl comes running out to his car and greets him with a kiss. I call him and asks him where he is and he lies and says that he is at home. I could just feel my heart break. What did I do wrong? Should I walk up to his car? Should I cry? Should I scream? What about the promises he made? Then I felt God's touch and I became strong, still hurt, but strong. My friend killed committed suicide in front of me and because of God's love, I made it. I had a very bad car accident, was in a coma for 8 days, and when I came out of the coma they told me my best friend did not make it, but because of God's love, I made it. I lost my unborn child, but because of God's love I made it. Right there and then I knew that God has taken me through the worst days of my life and that he will definitely take me through this. He has to. But what hurts the most is letting go. After all this I have come to realize what love is. I know of the love that I have for my friends. I know the love that parents has for their children. I know of the love that God has for us all. Like the time when he was crucified, when he opened his hands and died for me and you. My boyfriend can say that he loves me and i will believe him, but God proved it...That's love…the everlasting love…
