Great Expectations

It seemed no matter how long i spent straightening, dying, cutting my hair, or caking on make up i NEVER looked as good as the photographs of all the pretty girls in magazines and on facebook. Then i found the magic of photo shop. So I became one of the pretty girls.

Then, a guy wanted to go on a date and it turned out he just came over to watch a movie with me and my parents, he was looking through the pics on my phone and said "yeah, you dont look as good as this.." It was quite rude, but at the same time i realized..no i dont, and why should I? That night i deleted all edited photos.
God made me and you perfect in his eyes, and what he sees is far more important then any boy. Yes, being a teen its hard to believe ANYTHING is more important then THAT boy...but you know what? God himself has made us a soul mate, and that soul mate will want you for you.
That said...it still hurts to be turned down because guys our age are looking for social status just as much as the girls. They expect us to look like the perfect girls in the magazines. Its not fair that the media builds up expectations for the "perfect" image when none of us can achieve that.

You are right. Do not give in to what you see around you! Someday you will meet that wonderful man, and he will be SO BLESSED by your outlook, your purity, and all that you saved just for HIM! I can attest, it is REWARDING!
