Beautiful doesnt exist when I look in the mirror at myself.

by Miranda
(Ohio)

This is the first time i've ever been on this site, and i wanna give it a try. I went through alot last summer and i still carry that baggage and i dont know what to do. I have always struggled with low self esteem, and all that stuff and in all honesty i dont know how to love myself...But what i went through over the summer was so horrible i want to turn it into something positive. I want to share my story to other girls, so maybe they will realize that inner beauty makes your more beautiful on the outside.

What a mature young lady you are,you are absolutley right inner beauty does make you more attractive on the outside,in fact it has been proven scientifically that it is the confidence in a woman that draws a male to her-not the long hair or large chest!!
If you ever want to talk in more detail with me[i am an online mentor] about the ordeal you have gone through in more detail,i would be happy to share your burden,if you would like to do it in private i will give you my e mail [not something i do very often] I find it a breathe of fresh air that you want to help other girls with their issues, while clearly having a lot of your own.

Beautiful
by: S'ambrosia

You're beautiful because God says you are, not because you or anyone else thinks that you are. What God says never ever ever fails and is always true, but our opinion about ourselves change every day! I think it's so great that you want to share your story and encourage others with your testimony. That will definitely help you with the healing process, for sure, and it will speak to other girls as well. Before you do that though, make sure that you have an ending of hope. I've heard testimonies of girls who have gone through all kinds of abuse, but they don't show us how God helped them through it or display how they've been healed. Those kinds of testimonies are really despairing, to tell you the truth. When you tell your story, be sure to express how you see God working through the situation. For a testimony to be truly effective, people need to see the positive change in you. If you don't feel like that has happened for you yet, ask God to finish the work that He's started in you. I'll be doing the same as I pray for you.

Look at yourself through God's eyes instead
by: Sarah

Dear Miranda,

We are all human and we all sin. We all make mistakes and we have all fallen down at some point of time. And I think perhaps what you went through last summer can identify with what I'm saying.

We were created to be weak. And because of the first sin of Adam, all of us are born sinful. We face temptations in the world and with our own strength, we will never be able to be victorious, we will never be able to conquer sin.

But because God loves us, and because of His grace, we are able to come before Him and repent of our sin. We are able to see how weak we are, how sinful we are, and how much we need God in our lives. And because of His grace and His love, we begin to understand what love is, and how to love others, and how to forgive those who have hurt us.

God forgives whatever you have done in the past. Will you repent and give all your burdens to God and follow His ways?

God loves you just the way you are, and He has a grand and marvelous plan for your life. In fact, I think He might be using you to touch other lives, and to share your story to encourage others.

If you do not know the Lord, I encourage you to find out more about God through this website and through your local church. God is there for you. He has promised to be by your side and never to leave you, if you believe in His Son Jesus Christ.

In Christ,
Sarah
