Ana and me(:

by Emily
(Kentucky)

I am currently still anorexic. I am 15. I weigh 67 lbs. I've almost died 3 times. I think the reason I am still on this earth is because of God. I might be killing myself but God still has faith in me. I became friends with Ana when a boy at church called me fat. It hurt me a lot. So I stopped eating. I exercised even more. I was happy with the results. I started feeling depressed. I wasn't the happy girl I used to be. I started cutting myself. I would look in the mirror and see a 400 pound woman but instead I was really I was only 56 pounds at the time. I am trying to recover. I have a therapist and a nutritionist. I lost my friends. But I'm gaining them back. I'm gaining ME back.(:

Purpose:)

Hey,
I'm glad to hear you're on your way to recovery!! God definitely does have faith in you and he wants you to be at a healthy weight. He doesn't want anyone to hurt themselves. In addition, the boy at your church had no right to call you fat. I know that sometimes words can really harm others. Sometimes I wonder whether some people actually realize how much pain the words they say hurt us. Please don't take this boy's message to heart. Since he is a human, he is also a sinner and has issues of his own.
It's great to hear that you have such a wonderful friend who is there for you. Friends are definitely full of love(Proverbs 17:17). In addition, I'm sure your friend is a great encourager with your recovery. One idea to keep you motivated to achieve a healthy weight is by eating meals with those who care for you.I know that having meals with another person may be difficult, but it may be something that can really encourage your situation to improve.
Remember, God cares for you and has great plans for you. He even knew you before you were born, as was described to the prophet, Jeremiah (Jeremiah 1:4-5). Although striving to be healthy may be a struggle, God is walking beside you to guide you, placing people into your life for a reason. Sometimes we don't realize this until we look back at our situations. I think God definitely placed Ana into your life a reason, and that reason is wonderful:)

Im so beyond happy to hear about you recovering, choosing help is the hardest, most painful thig sometimes. I would know, I was anorexic and a cutter as well. I am recovered, and as hard as it was, it was worth it, now I can see what God's wonderful plans are for me!
